IJEN CRATER / KAWAH IJEN :
From the story of ancient active vulcano a long time ago. Inside an eponymous larger caldera ijen,which is about 20 kilometers (12 mi). The active crater at kawah ijen has a diameter of 722 metres (2,369 ft),and a surface area of 0.41 square kilometres (0.16 sq mi). Many people already know about this place,because beautiful color from the acid lake,sulfur conten, and sulfur miners. It becames part of UNESCO Global Geoparks in 2023.
BLUEFIRE / BLUEFLAME AT IJEN :
The blue fire is ignite sulfuric gas,which emergas fromcracks at temperatures up to 600 degres celcius (1112 degres fahrenheit). The flames can be up to five meters (16 feet) high. Some of the gas condenses to liquid and is still ignited. This gas is so bad not only for envifoment also for humans.
ITINERARY PROGRAM :
Our team will pick you up from banyuwangi city ( Java Island ) or Bali Island. Afterward,you drive to go to ijen crater parking area,and wait for the gates open. From parking area,you will meet with you’r local tour guide (He will give you information,and share gas mask and torch light). You can have a coffee or tea before hike.
The gates will be open at 2 am,ask your local guide to start little bit early and wait in the front of gates before open.That will be so many people to see bluefire. You only need to treeking from the gates until blue fire area,about 1 hour 30 minutes.Afterward,you don’t have to stay longer in blue fire area because still danger area and so many people would be come.Come back again to the rim of vulcano,wait until the sun goes up,and enjoy panorama from the top. After enjoy panorama at ijen crater,come back again to the parking area while you’r driver waiting over there.Before drive back to the hotel,you can visit coffee and rubber plantations. After from plantations,if you want to drink and buy coffee,our team will take you to the cafe near by plantations area. Drive back to the accommodation and afterward mount ijen tour finish.
IMPORTAND NOTICE FOR IJEN CRATER :
● Many local tour guide create bluefire/blueflame,burning sulfur by them self.
● Visitors descending into the crater must maintain a minimum safety distance of 500 meters from the sulfur mining area.
● The visibility of the blue fire is not guaranteed, as it depends on weather conditions and gas/mining activity.
● One think you should know. At the moment,bluefire program are impossible to do. There’s no real bluefire again,because the miners want to produce more sulfur.
